Virtual Counseling for Anxiety in Washington
What is anxiety?
Occasional anxiety is an expected part of life. You might feel anxious when faced with a problem at work, before taking an exam, or when faced with an important decision. You may have physical symptoms such as difficulty breathing or headaches from anxiety. It can feel like stress, nervousness, a feeling of impending doom or even perfectionism. Anxiety can interfere with daily activities such as job performance, school work, and relationships and make your life feel extraordinarily stressful.
Some days, you wake up with your heart beating out of your chest.
Other days, you have a perceptible undercurrent of nervousness running through your mind and body, impacting every minute of your day and making you brace for bad news, rejection or the feeling of distress when things don’t go the way you hoped or planned. You can’t sleep, and even if you try to relax, your mind races with a running loop of worst-case scenarios.
Can you ever really outrun anxiety?
My name is Lindsey and I specialize in anxiety counseling.
You try to ignore it, but the feelings of doom, uneasiness and upset seep into your body, your relationships, your work, your emotions and even the down time that you so desperately need. Then, after taking several unsuccessful deep breaths, you start having worries about your worries, which makes everything seem worse.
You can feel better, and I can help you.
I will use my empathetic approach and, working together, we will target your discomfort and help give your mind and body a much-needed respite from anxiety. I will also suggest and teach you skills and strategies that will have meaningful application both in our sessions and beyond, so you will always have tools to help you when you encounter issues.
It’s time that you learned new ways to respond to anxiety.
